In 2019, a collective of filmmakers recognized the vital need to establish the Georgian Film Institute. It was founded upon the fundamental principle of independent governance, with its goals and values meticulously shaped by filmmakers themselves.
None of the backers exert any influence on the day-to-day operations of the Georgian Film Institute, ensuring its autonomy and integrity.
